In 1975 Photography started off with learning how to develop B&W film and print photos. First old cameras from my dad followed by my first own bought Olympus OM10, early 1990s followed by an OM4Ti.

Digital era: The first “cheap” DSLR was the Canon 300D (or Rebel) and I got after a few years and Olympus OM to Canon adapter (all those nice lenses… I started collecting old cameras and also upgraded to full frame with the Canon 5DMII. After I got some Leica lenses I wanted to use them and kept looking for a digital where i could use them. Sony was the next step with the A7II which was stolen just before my Holidays. some month later it was followed by the A7RII, and recently the A7RIII.

In the last decennium when many lenses from the analog photography times were sold, I developed an interest is using “old” Lenses on my Sony cameras. Most annoying is that most modern lenses do not have the manual diaphragm control ring anymore. When I go on a photo hike, I just fill a backpack with Lenses and one or two bodies and a tripod, and off me/we go. Time consuming however is which lenses to pick, I do this by translating my trip expectation into specific lenses and focal distances. Recently I started collecting (for use!) some “Bokeh” lenses, selected for their specific background (Blur, pattern). the community of photographers using old lenses is growing. below you will find some links about what is around and the rating of specific lenses.

The lenses that I use on my camera’s are from all kinds of brands: Zeiss/Sony, Carl Zeiss, Carl Zeiss Jena, Meyer Optik-Görlitz, Leica/Leitz, Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Voigtländer, Pentax Takumars, Cosina, Laowa, Zenit, Minolta, Sigma, Arsat, Yashica (in random order)
